Great Expressions Invisalign®

We all want straight teeth, but many people believe they simply don’t have the time for it. For years, the process involved several visits to the orthodontist and a series of metal brackets and wires, but no more. With advances in dentistry and Invisalign®’s easy-to-use aligners, having straighter teeth is no longer an arduous or time-consuming process. Your first Invisalign® trays are ready only a few weeks after an initial free consultation and exam, setting you on your way to Be Your Own Kind of Great.

At Great Expressions, every one of our certified dentists are committed to helping you straighten your teeth and get the smile you desire. A series of custom aligners is made from smooth and invisible plastic, specially created for you to wear over your teeth. Invisalign® uses 3D imaging technology to depict your complete treatment plan, from start to finish, to help you get back to a healthy lifestyle. Each aligner moves your teeth incrementally, and is worn for about two weeks. That aligner is then replaced by the next in the series until the final result is achieved.

The Invisalign® Advantage

Invisalign® has several advantages over traditional braces:

  • You can get the smile you want without anyone knowing — no wires and no brackets
  • Your dental cleaning routine (brushing, flossing, etc.) doesn’t need to change
  • You can remove the aligners when it’s time to eat

With access to any of our locations anytime, anywhere, straighter teeth is effortless. We work with modern technology and techniques to bring you a comfortable and hassle-free experience, and offer affordable payment options — such as cash pay, financing, CareCredit, and insurance — so your finances can support the dental care you need. The average cost of braces ranges from $3,500 to $8,000, with the national average at about $5,000.

There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers; each contract provides a different benefit. Orthodontic insurance usually has a lifetime maximum for orthodontic services. Contact your insurance company directly to find out more information regarding your orthodontic benefits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What is Invisalign® and how does it work?

Invisalign® is the invisible new way to straighten teeth without braces. Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth, without metal or wires. Invisalign® uses 3D computer imaging technology to depict the complete treatment plan: from the initial position to the final desired position from which a series of custom-made “aligners” are produced. Each aligner moves teeth incrementally and is worn for about two weeks, then replaced by the next aligner in the series until the final position is achieved. Your Great Expressions Dental Centers orthodontist can help you understand the concerns with you or your child’s teeth, and refer you to an orthodontist as needed.

  • How long will a treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on the severity of your case and can only be determined by your doctor, however, the average case takes about 12 months for adults. The length of time necessary for a teen patient may vary and can be determined by your Great Expressions orthodontist.

  • Will Invisalign® treatment be painful?

While Invisalign® moves your teeth without the pain and anxiety metal braces can cause, some people experience temporary discomfort for a few days at the beginning of each new stage of treatment. This is normal and is typically described as a feeling of pressure. It’s also a sign that Invisalign® is working, as it moves your teeth to their final destination. This discomfort typically goes away in a couple of days.

  • Are there food restrictions while using Invisalign®?

No. Thanks to the removable nature of the aligners, you can eat and drink whatever you want while in treatment. In fact, you’re required to remove your aligners to eat and drink. So, unlike when undergoing traditional treatment using wires and brackets, there is no need to restrict your consumption of any of your favorite foods and snacks unless you are instructed otherwise by your doctor. Also, it is important that you brush your teeth after each meal and prior to reinserting your aligners to maintain fresh breath and proper hygiene.

  • Will I need to wear a retainer after treatment to prevent my teeth from moving again?

Most doctors recommend that anyone who has completed orthodontic treatment, whether braces or Invisalign® treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back towards their initial position. Because every case is different, please speak to your Great Expressions dentist to confirm if you need post-treatment retainers, and if they are needed for both upper and lower teeth.
