GEDC Management Team Wins Stevie American Business Awards

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 5, 2016 – The Stevie American Business Awards today named the management team of Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC), a leading dental service organization, as winners of two Stevie Awards for their leadership in the dental industry. At the upcoming ceremony in New York, GEDC’s CEO Richard Beckman and COO Greg Nodland will be recognized with a Silver Stevie American Business Award for Management Team of the Year in Consumer Services Industries. At the ceremony, Beckman will also be recognized with a Bronze Stevie Award for Executive of the Year in Health Products & Services.

As CEO of GEDC, Beckman quickly identified affiliations with dental groups and offices as the critical growth driver for the company. Under his leadership, GEDC became profitable in 2000 and has seen both top and bottom line growth every year since. In the past year alone, the organization’s revenue has seen growth of 5.7 percent and the company’s footprint grew to 10 states, with expansion into Texas through an affiliation with 11 offices. The company’s growth has continued in 2016 with the addition of 13 affiliation offices in Ohio.

When Beckman departed from his role as President of Credit Acceptance Corporation to lead GEDC in 1998, he brought Greg Nodland, Director of Finance at the time, with him. As COO of GEDC, Nodland’s background in finance is not long behind him – he finds that he is able to help those in operations and on the clinical side of the organization to think more about the bottom line. The pair has overseen GEDC’s continuous growth over the past 18 years.
