Great Expressions Collects 760 Pounds of Food for Gleaners

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – February 3, 2012 – The staff of the Great Expressions Dental Centers headquarters in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. collected 760 pounds of food for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan during the 2011 holiday season.

Through Great Expressions’ contribution, Gleaners will be able to provide 585 meals to those who otherwise cannot afford the food they need. This annual collection is part of a continuous effort to give back in the communities where Great Expressions offices are located.

“Supporting the community by giving back has always been a top priority with Great Expressions Dental Centers,” said Richard Beckman, CEO of Great Expressions. “We understand the challenges experienced by many families as they try to feed their children and provide a good holiday. We’re very pleased we were able to lend a hand to help make the season a little brighter for our neighbors.”

Gleaners Community Food Bank has been “nourishing communities by feeding hungry people” for nearly forty years. Last year, Gleaners distributed 40 million pounds of emergency food to over 600 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties.
