Great Expressions Teams Up with UNITE to Aide Three Southeast Michigan School Districts

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – September 6, 2011 – Richard Beckman, Chief Executive Officer of Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC), announced today that GEDC is participating with Alternative Revenue Development in the Michigan UNITE program to provide additional revenue streams to school districts through a local sponsorship. The program is designed to help maintain a quality education for students by offering school districts supplemental revenue in response to state funding cuts. GEDC is partnering with the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, Dearborn Heights School District #7 and Wayne-Westland Community School District this fall. In addition, GEDC is awarding one student or family in these districts ‘free braces’ to defer the expense of orthodontic care for the winner and to start the districts’ “Orthodontics Awareness” promotion.

The campaign kicks-off with the start of the 2011-2012 school year. Beckman stated, “We’ve been a fixture in the community for over 35 years, caring for the dental needs of neighbors, friends and family. We started with one dental office in Dearborn back in 1975. Now our locally owned, neighborhood orthodontic offices have a chance to help the local schools in their communities too. Partnering with UNITE allows us to directly support the schools where many of our orthodontic patients are educated each day. Not only are we enhancing their smiles with orthodontic treatment, but we’re able to help put smiles on their faces by making their day at school a little better by supporting programs that might otherwise be lost.”
