Great Expressions Raises $52,000 on MLK, Jr Day to Donate to Local Organizations

Revenue Generated by Dental Service Organization on MLK Day has Increased Nearly 250 Percent since Inception

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – Jan. 20, 2015 – To honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as his message, Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) is donating $52,000 to local charities, schools and other organizations in Michigan, Florida, Georgia and New York. Patients helped support the annual fundraiser, now in its fifth year, by coming into a GEDC office for hygiene treatments, orthodontics, pediatrics and more on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The company is donating five percent of the daily revenue generated through patient services from all offices on MLK Day to chosen organizations. Since the inception of this initiative in 2011, donations have increased nearly 250 percent. In Michigan, donations will be directed to organizations helping shape futures and empowering youth, such as The Children’s Center, Uplift Our Youth and Winning Futures.

Additional organizations benefiting from donations include The King Center, Morehouse College and Meharry School of Dentistry in Georgia; The Ronald McDonald House of South Florida; and Make-A-Wish^® Metro New York and Western New York in the New York-area.
