Great Expressions to Give Back to the Community this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Revenue Generated by Dental Organization on MLK Day to be Donated to Local Charity

DETROIT, MICH. – Jan. 12, 2015 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 19) is a day to honor his legacy and a day of community service. To show support of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision, Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) will donate five percent of the daily revenue generated through patient services from all offices on MLK Day to designated organizations in the communities it serves across the United States, including Detroit.

This is the fifth year that GEDC has donated a percentage of its daily revenue from all offices on MLK Day. GEDC hopes to surpass their record donation of $47,000. In Detroit, the nonprofit organizations receiving a portion of the funds are The Children’s Center and Winning Futures.

“At GEDC, we remember Dr. King often said “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?”, said Richard Beckman, CEO of Great Expressions Dental Centers. “Each year, we want to be able to answer that question in a way that shows what we are doing for our community. This annual fundraiser allows us to give back to those living in our communities while supporting Dr. King’s legacy.”

Patients can support the initiative by visiting a GEDC office on January 19 for hygiene treatments, orthodontics and more. Additional organizations across the country benefiting from donations include The King Center, Ronald McDonald House, Uplift Our Youth, Make-A-Wish and Meharry School of Dentistry.
